Towergate tops its £1m fundraising
target second year in. a row for UK charities
Despite the ongoing current economic climate,
Towergate Partnership, Europe’s largest independently owned
insurance intermediary, has smashed its fundraising target for the
second year in a row, raising £1,081,976 for good causes in
2009.
Towergate Partnership has worked together with
clients, colleagues and customers to raise this staggering amount
for four charities: Cancer Research UK, Great Ormond Street
Hospital Children’s Charity, the Hospice movement and ChildLine, a
service provided by NSPCC. And since the partnership began in 2008
has raised over £2 million to date.
Peter Cullum, Founder and Executive Chairman
of Towergate Partnership has championed fundraising throughout the
organisation; building on the company’s mantra of ‘Make money, have
fun, do good’.
Peter Cullum says: “I wish to thank our
clients, staff and suppliers for their incredible generosity in
helping us make a tangible difference to the lives of people who
need our support.”
Tim Johnson, Executive Director of Great
Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity says:
“The support of Towergate Partnerships during
2009/10 has been going from strength to strength, not only
supporting the vital redevelopment of Great Ormond Street Hospital
but also a crucial childhood leukaemia research project, being
conducted with the hospital’s research partner, the UCL Institute
of Child Health. We are deeply grateful for their ongoing support
in helping to improve the lives of the most vulnerable children at
the hospital.”
