Towergate AIUA promotes Farming Charity

Towergate AIUA, the leading farm insurance underwriter, is hoping to raise public awareness in the farming community for those facing difficulties and hardship during the current economic climate. The underwriter is financing for the next six months banner advertising on behalf of Farm Crisis Network on the weather pages of Farmers Weekly’s, the UK’s largest national farming magazine website to endorse the fantastic work of their adopted charity FCN.

In recent years there has been a period of very low farm incomes, including the additional strain of severe flooding and outbreaks of Foot and Mouth Disease, Bluetongue, Tuberculosis and Avian Influenza. As a result, there are many situations of severe hardship and anxiety across many UK farms. Some farming families are struggling financially and some are suffering from strained relationships and poor health and unable to cope with ever-increasing rules and regulations. FCN is currently supporting over 1,000 farming families every year with almost 300 volunteers in groups across the UK.

Andrew Bell, Towergate AIUA’s Managing Director commented, “Farm Crisis Network are tireless in their commitment to the farming community and we want farmers to be aware of FCN and what they do and more importantly where to go to get help. There is a tendency for awareness to drop when the media moves on from catastrophes like foot and mouth, but the hardship is still there for many. By placing 10,000 page impressions a month, over a long period, on such a high traffic area of FWi we hope to create instant recognition for this sort of assistance”.
