Towergate Insurance’s Claims division proudly accepted the Broker Claims Initiative of the Year prize at the 2016 Insurance Times Awards, held on 01 December 2016 in London, finishing the year on a high following a slew of shortlistings at industry awards over the past few months.

Towergate received the award for a transformation project which saw performance and service dramatically improve thanks to a range of initiatives and changes over the past two years.

With improved training, new resourcing tools, a surge response strategy, an overhaul of building repair and new counter-fraud measures, the transformation has drastically enhanced customer service, saved millions of pounds  and built highly engaged teams across the country.

The transformation also saw the team named as finalists in the British Insurance Awards, Claims Awards, Insurance Times Claims Excellence Awards and the Insurance Fraud Excellence Awards in 2016.

Towergate’s Head of Claims Jon Cawley said: “The incredible support from our team over the past two years to turn our vision into a reality has been a humbling experience. The team’s dedication to delivering improved customer service whilst learning new ways of working and new skills has surpassed all my expectations. To have the team’s efforts recognised by the industry really validates their achievements and I am very proud of all they have done.”

Towergate’s Group CEO David Ross said: “The win is a testament to the incredible transformation the Claims team has undergone over the past two years and their dedication to our customers – we’re incredibly proud of their achievements.”
